Match Report: Udeze, Elahor Book Round of 16 Spots on Thrilling Day Seven

Day seven of the 2026 Bet9ja Foundation Ex-Internationals Cup delivered exactly what this competition has come to promise — passion, drama, and moments that will be replayed in community conversations for weeks to come.
At Legacy Pitch, FC Udeze and FC Ugbade served up a thriller. Udeze went ahead in the 16th minute when Clems Henry finished calmly after a brilliant assist from Udeme Sunday, but Ugbade fought back — equalising through a Sunday Emmanuel penalty in the 37th minute before taking the lead through Enyinda Destiny in the 61st minute.
With the aggregate level at 3-3, the match went to penalties — and in a shootout that seemed to last forever, FC Udeze held their nerve to win 8-7. Eight. Seven. In a penalty shootout. This tournament really does not do quiet.
The second match at Legacy Pitch was more straightforward but no less enjoyable. FC Elahor delivered a composed, clinical performance against Ayegbeni FC, with Clinton Omonedo scoring twice — once from close range in the 32nd minute and once from a header in the 60th. Ayegbeni pulled one back in the dying seconds through an Ajiroba Alaba penalty, but FC Elahor had done more than enough, progressing 5-3 on aggregate.
At Landmark Field, FC Enegwea showed tremendous character to claw back a 2-0 deficit against FC Disu. Ebube David and Adetunji Taofeek had put Disu firmly in control, but Tari Elijah bagged a brace to level the match and keep Enegwea’s hopes alive heading into the next stage.
