Match Report: Tobi Amidu Saves FC Alloy as Ipaja Goes the Distance

Ipaja was on its feet. And Tobi Amidu was the reason why.
When FC Alloy ran out at home against FC Ayila, the aggregate deficit of 3-1 felt heavy. It felt, to many watching, like a formality. But someone forgot to tell Tobi Amidu about formalities.
The FC Alloy forward was simply exceptional. His first goal pulled one back and shifted the momentum. His second levelled the match on the night at 2-0, and in doing so, brought the aggregate score to 3-3. Suddenly, Ipaja was electric. Suddenly, FC Alloy were alive.
The match went to penalties. And in a shootout that had the crowd on the edge of everything, FC Alloy held their nerve — converting four of their attempts to win 4-2 and advance to the Round of 16. The noise that followed was the kind you don’t forget.
This is what the Ex-Internationals Cup is about. Not just football — stories. A striker carrying his community through a night when logic said it was already over. A crowd pushing a team to do something incredible. The beautiful game, lived at its most human level.
FC Alloy are through. Tobi Amidu put them there. And Ipaja will be celebrating for a while yet.
